Greetings World.

Hello there.  I must admit, it has been quite some time since I have last written or posted on a blog page.  But now that I am back, I think I will write an entry or two on a weekly basis.  Alright, here is the gist of what I will post here.  I will post about issues regarding life, experiences and encounters.  Well, to some of you, these words are synonymous in their own way and rest assure, you are correct in that discipline.  However, each of the word mentioned beforehand has their own innate values and meanings.  Life is a general term which encompasses all the things that we have in this material world.  Experience refers to the tangible and intangible feelings that we felt throughout our lives and thus, burned it into our memory.  Encounter pertains to the people and possibly, experiences which we have come across during the course of our limited lifespan.

Well, enough with the philosophical babble.  Let's move into the first topic for the day.  I would like to talk about beauty.

"As the sun rises, I would like to show you the beauty of the world."

What is beauty or more importantly, how do we define beauty.  Is something beautiful because it has many colours?  Is a girl beautiful because she has a voluptuous body?  Is a scenery beautiful because it is breathtaking?  To make things simple, an adage will answer all these questions, "beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder."  Well, all of us can say this but to actually practise this saying, I doubt even half of us can do it.  If we interpret this sentence on the surface level, it simply means that beauty differs according to one's perception.  But to me, it depicts something else.  Beauty is not just what we perceive but what we want it to be.  There are two kinds of beauty in this world, outer beauty and inner beauty.  Depending on how you perceive it, you can either go for the first or latter.

For me, inner beauty is always more important in our lives as it is perpetual.  Outer beauty is like a Rafflesia.  In case you have never heard of it before, a picture is attached at the end of this passage.  It looks magnificent on the outside but it is in actual fact, a parasite that feeds off the life essence of another plant, not to mention it reeks of a foul stench.  On the contrary, inner beauty is like cheery blossom.  The tree bark is hideous and you will hardly even look at it when it does not have any petals but when it blooms, that type of beauty simply bewitches you.  At that very instant, you will not even look at the bark anymore as its petals have captured all your attention.  That is the contrast, outer beauty is what seems splendid on the outside but is rotten on the inside while inner beauty can only be seen by those who really go deep and will not be swayed by what is before their eyes.  Well, that's all from me for the first post.  Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

"Outer beauty.  Everyone falls for it."

"Inner beauty.  Only time can tell."
